Affirmations Help Us Roll In New Energies
I spend most of these summer early mornings with my lease horse, Coco.
One morning a few weeks back Coco and I are making our way up to the tack room. Lead rope in hand she follows a few feet behind me. All of the sudden she puts on the breaks and stops hard and fast. I turn and watch her drop down to the ground. If you haven’t experienced the sheer size and force of a 1200 lb animal, for a moment try to visualize that amount of mass energy. To help with this concept, I goggled what weighs 1200lbs? Answer: 4 full size refrigerators!
Imagine this weight coming down to the ground aprox 2 -3 steps away from you. My initial reaction is, “Oh sh*t,” what is happening, did she break her leg? A wave of sweat appears on my forehead. I continue to watch as she turns onto her back, and she decides to have a good old role. My emotion shifts from fear to laughter. Then Miss Coco manages to hoist her 1200 lb body back up on all fours and looks at me as if to say, “Well, what are you waiting for, let’s go.”
Coco and I have become good friends over the past few months. I enjoy riding her and observing her moods and behavior. After the drop and roll incident, I now give her the opportunity most mornings to roll in her own little private sanctuary.
Coco makes me feel completely grounded and present in my own body— she communicates her thoughts, feelings and emotions (to me and other horses) through her body language— it’s up to me to pay attention. To learn to “speak horse” is to learn how to tap into a deeper awareness, keen observation and intuition. All of which apply to humans too.
Join me and invite opportunities into your life that ask you to keep pulling the thread. What brings you back to a connection to your true nature? A connection to others (animal and human) and a sense of real joy? If we commit to doing this, we are in alignment with our personal truewellbeing. In this place we are able to offer the best version of ourself to others.
