Retreat Inside Look: Sarah's Perspective
JUNE 12 - 14, 2020
Sunrise Springs Resort & Spa
During these special weekends, something sacred always happens. I guess it's when you translate ancient wisdom into everyday language.
People RELAX. They get INSPIRED. Women become FRIENDS and get EMPOWERED.
One part of the retreat is the yoga sessions. They are designed for any level of yogi, from someone who has never done yoga before to someone who practices daily. We teach gentle, breath-based movements that allow your mind to quiet, your body to respond, and your soul to meet you.
I’m pleased to say Sarah will lead our yoga sessions at our next retreat.
You walk into the retreat room; it is slightly nerve-racking.
You are in a new environment. There are some familiar faces, but mostly new ones. You are not really sure what to expect, but something in your belly tells you you feel like you are in the right place at the right time. You are supported.
You sit down on your yoga mat. There is a kind smile coming from the mat next to yours. You think how nice it is to have a new friend in this stranger.
The session begins. You breathe and move with your body, following the yoga teacher’s voice through the sequence. It feels lovely to reconnect with this part of yourself. " Life” has kept you from connecting with this part of yourself, and you realize that “life” is actually right here in this moment. So why don’t you connect to it more?
The yoga flow ends, and you lie on your mat with your eyes closed. For a few moments, silence falls in the room. How peaceful it is.
It is time to wake up and open your eyes.
You face the circle of yoga mats, the women looking back at you, and you notice the peacefulness radiating from each face.
There is a new sense of comfort and eagerness to continue on what is next. We are all in this together.
& how exciting it is to find out what we will uncover.
This is a memory of mine from our Soul Space Retreat in Santa Fe last year. For me, a retreat always feels like I am about to step into a new space, maybe uncover something I’ve been avoiding within myself — and yet I always walk away with new clarity and know the effort is always worth it.
I am very grateful to teach the yoga sessions at our retreat this summer. The mountains of Santa Fe are a genuinely healing, magical place—one of my favorite places in the world.
