PEACEFUL BUSY BEE
I like to think of myself as productive. At the end of the day it feels good to reflect back and feel accomplished. But this satisfaction is very different than feeling the need to be in constant movement- constantly checking things off a list. The difference with living in a perpetual state of “doing” leaves us with that nauseating “I can’t do it all” feeling.
We hold the ability to feel calm and powerful with each task at hand. We only react to the world, dizzily spinning around in a revolving door instead of making our own choices and creating our own reality.
Each of us holds the possibility within us that any moment can become a peaceful moment.
Try this now. Bring your awareness to your breath. Feel your inhalation fill up your body and your exhalation empty your body out. As you watch your breathe (for just a few minutes) you begin to cultivate an innate natural inner stillness. In this quiet, still space you give yourself more clarity, more compassion, more peace to move through your day.
Today, if you begin to fall into that overwhelming always-on-the-go feeling, know that you have inner peace readily available to you.
excerpt from A MOMENT’S PEACE
“Being still does not mean don’t move. It means move in peace.” – E’yen A. Gardner
AFFIRM: I feel stillness within and move peacefully through my day.
