Santa Fe Style: Favorite People, Places, & Things

Santa Fe, New Mexico is filled with people, places, and things we love. We love supporting this charming community and want to share some of our favorite spots with you.

One late summer afternoon over coffee, we meet Amy and Caitlin. We feel they curate a good essence of Santa Fe through their Instagram @simplysantafenm and care deeply about supporting and promoting the local Santa Fe community. They give us a taste of Santa Fe living.

1. What is it like living in Santa Fe?

Specifically, a place with so much culture, history, and Native American influence?

Santa Fe has been inhabited by many cultures for thousands of years and the cultural influences have intertwined to create a culture totally unique to this place. The art, food, music, and architecture are special to everyone who lives in Santa Fe and directly and indirectly influences all aspects of our lives. Santa Feans have a great sense of pride in our way of life and love to share that people online and in real life.

2. What are your favorite spots around town and why are they your favorite?

At the top of our list is the Santa Fe Opera. We love visiting the Plaza and getting coffee and a snack at 35 North Coffee. The Santa Fe Railyard is always a great place to take a stroll.

We also love to spend time on the Aspen Vista trail. It is one of the best loved hiking trails in the Santa Fe National Forest and one of our personal favorites when we want to take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the great outdoors. This trail is a must see for people traveling to Santa Fe in the fall!

3. How do you like to get inspired in Santa Fe?

We are photographers so we are inspired by almost everything we see in Santa Fe! Architecture, people, lines, and most definitely the light. The light in Santa Fe is pure magic and something sought after by all kinds of artists.

4. What is your favorite thing about Santa Fe?

Our favorite thing about Santa Fe is the collaborative and supportive environment that exists communitywide. Working together to create something is a cultural norm that benefits not just those people working together but the entire community. A strong, passionate local economy is an important value and one which we care about very deeply.
