This evening, June 24, there is a Strawberry Full Moon. Take a few moments just after sunset and look towards the southeast to watch the full Moon rise gently above the horizon. There, it will appear large and golden hued.

A kind of interesting note is that this can appear honey in color and traditionally many weddings occur in June followed with a “honeymoon”.

Today is a full moon.

Spring Equinox, Full Moon and a Lunar Eclipse— what does this beautiful spring time hold?

As many of you know I love to follow the moon cycles. In my daily journal I record where the moon is in it’s monthly rotation. When I follow the cycles I can be more aware of a new Moon (begin again), waxing Moon (building energies), full Moon (surf the wave) or waning Moon (revision energies) and also to be more compassionate with myself and others during high intensity lunar periods, such as a full Moon or eclipses.

How did you sleep last night?

I woke to the light of an enormous pregnant full moon’s illumination. The moon beam was so incredible, she illuminated our entire bedroom. Her intense beautiful light also caused me to lie awake for a couple of hours pondering all those thoughts that creep in during the stillness of night time.

Today, is the 50th anniversary of the launch of Apollo 11 to land astronauts on the moon. Two weeks ago the moon totally eclipsed the sun and now it’s the moon’s turn to have an eclipse of its own. Unfortunately, North America is unable to view the moon’s interaction with the Earth as the eclipse occurs during the day when the moon is below the horizon.

As I begin another trip around the sun, I move forward with the reminder — freedom is our greatest treasure, patience as a virtue, and to always see life through a generous and idealistic lens.

Ever since the moon and sun aligned, the summer’s end has brought with it a record breaking series of natures’ chaos.

Ocean tides, yearly calendars, women’s cycles, farmers crops, all are influenced by lunar cycles. It is evident that there is power in this practice.
