Truewellbeing Inc is a B Corporation!
It is official. Truewellbeing is now a B corporation! Truewellbeing Inc is the company I started some 12 years ago. And, it’s grown up. At its core, Truewellbeing Inc is a company that focuses on the education and empowerment of women and on families’ whole health and well-being.
Why a B Corp?
Initially I wanted to form a non-profit. Then I learned about b-corporations and I realized it was a perfect fit for me– as I need to make money to be able to sustain giving back money! Through triple bottom line transparency, a b-corporation becomes a way to differentiate our business from other’s who may be “talking the talk” about being sustainable. A B corp allows us to grow with values and a mission behind us–a movement for a new way of doing business.
The Change We Seek
Truewellbeing’s mission is to improve the lives and well-being of women and families from all walks of life. Educating women through all forms of print and electronic media, educational workshops and classes, Truewellbeing also produces locally sourced and hand-crafted products. Truewellbeing is committed to a triple bottom line (profit, people, and planet) and continues to grow as a company, give back to others in need, and nourish a foundation of integrative health for families for generations to come. A Mother’s Intuition
It was my first job out of college, and it was overwhelming. I was twenty-two years old, green, fresh out of school, and scared. The hospital’s Neonatal ICU was a place of great intensity. I can still remember the yelling of orders. “Start an IV ASAP and get that drip going now!” And I’d scramble to do so, all the while knowing I had to hook up the heart monitor on a different baby, check a temperature, suction . . . a list of “to do’s” so long that I teetered on the edge, feeling so overwhelmed I did not know where to begin. There were so many critical tasks to perform, and so little time. As hectic and frightening as it was, those early days in my nursing career taught me to develop the ability to keep a cool head and allow intuition to move through me to get the job done. When I Get Confused
When I get confused, when my mind is wrestling with what to do, I’ve learned to abandon my thought process completely. The best solution, I have discovered lies in asking my heart for direction. This requires that I stop my mental chatter, either by sitting in silence or by doing something completely different. In the quiet space, I often know what’s needed, with clarity that I never get from the laboring of my mind. And I now know, without a doubt, that when I am confused is never the time to act. I must wait for clarity. I’ve never been lost, but I will admit to being confused for several weeks.

Out and In
Out and In
I only went for a walk, and finally concluded to stay out ’til sundown, for going out, I found, was really going in.”

Photography is a Beautiful Thing!
Learning how to take a better photograph is something I put on my 2011 “ways to tap into my creativity” list! So when I had the opportunity to meet Tracey Clark last week, I was nothing less than thrilled! She is a seasoned and savvy photographer who I had the privileged of spending a beautiful day with.
She joined my workshop at Cal-a-Vie Health Spa and then we chatted away at lunch, had a meditative walk in the labrynith, and experienced the moment, The Magic of Togetherness. We ended the afternoon snuggled into the comfort of an over-sized sofa with a refreshing mug of mint tea before it was time to hug good-bye. A wonderful day that truly felt like a blink in time.
